Dr. Margaret Summers grew up in Indiana, but her love for animals and passion for SCUBA diving led her to study marine biology at the University of Tampa in Tampa, FL. Though she enjoyed researching sharks in South Africa and marine life in Costa Rica, she realized that she wanted to care for animals, not just study them. She started volunteering at veterinary offices and instantly knew being a veterinarian was the perfect career for her. She graduated from Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine in Tennessee. Her interests in veterinary medicine include internal medicine and surgery, but bonding with patients and clients is the most rewarding part of the job for her. She has a horse named Moose and two giant schnauzers. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, running (she completed the New York City Marathon in 2017), and going to NY Rangers hockey games.
