Dr. Catriona Love grew up in a small town in northern Connecticut and spent her childhood trying to convince her parents that all creatures great and small should live under their roof. She ultimately failed and had to settle for a guinea pig and a dog but decided to make up for it by caring for the pets of others.
After spending a transformative semester abroad in Tanzania while attending the University of Connecticut, she decided to pursue her veterinary degree at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, where her affinity for travel and adventure continued to grow. After graduating, she moved to Cairns, Australia where she spent four years advancing skills in surgery and medicine that likely wouldn’t have been possible in America before returning to New York and landing at Heart of Chelsea.
Had New York been her forever home, she never would have left the Heart of Chelsea team, but the Pacific Northwest was calling, and in 2020, she moved to Seattle with her husband and soon to be daughter. In the last five years she has tried to find the veterinary home she had in New York but it never quite fit, which is why she is thrilled to be bringing not only the Heart of Chelsea name, but also the same values of providing exceptional, compassionate pet care to the Ballard Neighborhood in Seattle. Dr. Love is excited to bring the quality of care first perfected in Chelsea to the West Coast, where she has planted roots with her husband, two children, and fur babies.
