Dr. Chivers grew up in Toronto, Canada, surrounded by a full house of dogs, a cat, a hamster, and a budgie. After initially studying mathematics and moving to New York for a career in the software industry, she realized her true calling had always been veterinary medicine. She returned to Canada to attend the Ontario Veterinary College, and following graduation completed a rotating internship near San Diego to trade the northern cold for the California sun.
However, her love for New York brought her back immediately following her internship. After years working in anesthesia and emergency medicine in the city, Dr. Chivers joined Heart of Chelsea to slow things down and focus on long-term wellness and the joy of seeing the same wagging tails (and purring friends) year after year. She is especially passionate about feline medicine, anesthesia, and the unique needs of our senior companions.
Outside of the clinic, she enjoys tending to her plants, spinning, reading, and settling into a good board game. She shares her home with her husband and their three felines: Josie, Izzy, and spectacular 19-year-old Sally.
