Jade grew up in Oklahoma where stray dogs always seemed to “wander” into the backyard. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in English Literature and moved to New York in 2012. Starting as a dog walker, she realized she loved working with animals and began to explore career options for working with them everyday. She landed in the veterinary field which she found to be the perfect blend of science and working with animals and people. She has loved working at Heart of Chelsea while preparing to start veterinary school at Ross University in St. Kitts in January 2019. Working with so many kind, intelligent, and compassionate people has taught her you can and should give it your all every day. She loves working with fearful animals and seeing them progress over their visits to our hospitals. When she’s not working, she’s usually strolling around with Amelia, her Chihuahua mix.
