We also recommend monthly preventive pet products for heartworms, fleas, and ticks, which are available at our onsite veterinary pharmacy. We look forward to partnering with you to provide the longest, happiest, and healthiest life for your adult dog or cat.

Adult Cat Vaccinations

Vaccinations are a critical component of preventive care for your cat. Vaccinating your cat offers safe, proven, effective protection from potentially life-threatening diseases, some of which can be transferred to your human family members. Our feline vaccines are non-adjuvanted in an effort to provide your cat the safest vaccines available. We recommend annual antibody titers beginning at 2 years of age after your cat’s initial vaccine regimen to evaluate the immune response in your cat. This ensures your cat is receiving the maximum protection from the vaccine and minimizes unnecessary overvaccination. In general, your cat should always be protected from the following:

  • FVRCP—Feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, panleukopenia
  • Rabies—Required by New York State law

Our veterinary staff may recommend additional vaccinations depending on the lifestyle of your pet. These vaccines offer additional protection and include the following:

  • FeLV (feline leukemia)

Adult Dog Vaccinations

Vaccinating your dog offers safe, proven and effective protection from potentially life-threatening diseases, and they are a critical component of preventive care for your adult dog. Some diseases we vaccinate against can be transferred to your human family members. Antibody titers are recommended beginning at 2 years of age, after your dog’s initial vaccine regimen, to evaluate the immune response. This helps ensure your dog is receiving the maximum protection from the vaccine and minimizes unnecessary overvaccination (Note: Although most day care and boarding facilities accept vaccine titers, please be sure your pet’s facility accepts titer results in lieu of vaccination boosters). In general, your dog should always be protected from the following:

  • DA2PPV—Distemper, adenovirus Types 1 and 2, parainfluenza, parvovirus
  • Rabies—Required by New York State law
  • Bordetella

Our veterinary team may recommend additional vaccinations depending on the lifestyle of your pet. These vaccines offer additional protection and include the following:

  • Lyme disease
  • Leptospirosis
  • H3N8 canine influenza

Adult Dog & Cat Nutrition

Proper pet nutrition is a key ingredient to your pet’s good health. Adult dogs and cats require maintenance-stage formulas that contain the proper amount of calories, protein, vitamins, and minerals. We recommend feeding on a set schedule using the quantity listed on the bag as a guideline. You may end up feeding up to 25% less or more depending on your pet’s lifestyle and activity level. During your pet’s annual wellness visit, our veterinary staff will evaluate your pet’s coat and body condition and can discuss any of your specific questions related to your pet’s individual needs.

Please contact us to schedule a adult pet wellness exam or with any questions you may have regarding your pet’s health.
