Dr. Marc Siebert, VMD
Dr. Marc Siebert is the owner and medical director of Heart of Chelsea Animal Hospital. A native of New Jersey, Dr. Siebert opened Heart of Chelsea in 1999. He attended Rutgers University and received a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science in 1987. He continued his education at the University of Pennsylvania College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. Dr. Siebert is also a certified veterinary acupuncturist with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society; in addition, he is a U.S. Department of Agriculture-accredited veterinarian.
Dr. Siebert's duties at the hospital keep him busy, but when he's not at work, he enjoys biking, tennis, working out and caring for his new puppy, George, and his two cats named Wesley and Pumpkin.
Dr. Allan Nguyen, DVM
Associate veterinarian, Dr. Allan Nguyen began practicing medicine at Heart of Chelsea Animal Hospital in 2004. Dr. Nguyen hails from California and attended California State University Polytechnic in Pomona. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 1997 and completed his veterinary studies at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Nguyen was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001, and his professional interests include soft-tissue surgery and client education.
Like Dr. Siebert, Dr. Nguyen is certified in veterinary acupuncture. Veterinary ailments acupuncture is most commonly used for are pain management and diseases of the liver, kidney, and skin. Generally, acupuncture treatments are combined with traditional approaches to healing such as physical therapy and / or the use of medications.
Dr. Nguyen shares his home with two cats, Caroline and Olly. His hobbies include tennis, rollerblading, hiking and scuba diving.
Dr. Jennifer Gabriele, DVM
Practicing veterinary medicine at Heart of Chelsea Animal Hospital since 2001, Dr. Jennifer Gabriele is the hospital's expert in herbal medicine. A native of Queens, Dr. Gabriele attended the University of California-Davis and received her Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 1996. Following her undergraduate studies, she attend Ross University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. With professional interests in internal medicine, surgery and alternative medicine, she also received her continuing education certification in herbal medicine from Tufts University.
During her free time, Dr. Gabriele can be found engaged in many creative pursuits, including drawing, painting, writing, knitting and beading. She also enjoys watching movies, cycling, running and spending time with her two cats, Bitsy and Oedipus, and her dog Betsey.
Dr. Rebecca S. Padró, VMD
Dr. Rebecca S. Padró grew up outside Philadelphia. She attended Boston College and received her Bachelor's Degree in Bio-Psychology. She continued her education at the University of Pennsylvania College of Veterinary Medicine where she was awarded her Veterinary Medical Doctorate in 2004.
Dr. Padró's professional interests include veterinary pediatrics, client education and emergency medicine. When Dr. Padró is not at work she loves to go traveling, hiking, and camping with her husband and her 6 year old Airedale Terrier, Owen.
Dr. Jill Elliot, DVM, Homeopathy
Dr. Jill Elliot graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and began her career practicing as a conventional veterinarian. After several years in general practice, she returned to school and studied classical homeopathy for animals at the Orion School of Homeopathy in London and the Teleosis School of Homeopathy in New York. Prior to that, she completed both the beginners and advanced courses in veterinary homeopathy, given by Richard Pitcairn, DVM, a recognized authority in the field of veterinary homeopathy.
Dr. Elliot combines conventional wisdom, homeopathic and holistic treatment for treating her companion animal patients.
Dr. Laurie Green, DVM
Dr. Laurie Greene originated from Ohio. She attended The Ohio State University, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Animal Science. She continued her studies at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. Dr. Greene's professional interests include acupuncture, geriatric medicine, and a whole-body approach to veterinary medicine. Dr. Greene enjoys seeing pets both in the hospital and at their homes. Please ask us about her availability for house calls, especially if you are unable to easily bring your pet into Heart of Chelsea Animal Hospital.
Until recently, Dr. Greene was also a lead singer in a rock band called PetRox. She can still be found singing her favorite animal-related songs to her private cat audience at home, Zimi and his brother, Dante, both age 4, and Jack and Loge, both age 14. Her passion is exploring New York City, attending the opera and going to the theatre.
